Senior Subcontract Administrator
As a Senior Subcontract Administrator for Advanced Manufacturing, you will be responsible for contracting with major construction services for mid‑to‑large‑sized projects (Total Installed Cost of $50M – $750M). The Senior Subcontract Administrator applies functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems while implementing innovative solutions. You will be the dedicated lead on projects with accountability for team members and ongoing activities or objectives.
Responsibilities
* Lead on procurement planning activities such as developing the Supply Management Execution Plan (SMEP), establishing subcontracting strategies, and developing project‑specific templates, reports, and tools.
* Provide general guidance to subcontract technicians and associate subcontract administrators, including on‑the‑job training, support, system instruction, and package assignment management.
* Use critical thinking and problem solving to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the project’s subcontracting efforts.
* Oversee subcontracting assignments on major or complex construction services or serve as the Subcontracts Lead for all subcontracting on medium‑to‑large projects.
* Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
* Coordinate subcontracted services Procurement Agreements and change orders to accomplish project or group objectives and obligations.
* Review subcontract‑related invoices and ensure they are approved in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
* Evaluate subcontract‑related problem areas and apply remedies to resolve them.
* Maintain subcontracting documentation in a repository.
* Identify and advise management of subcontract‑related risks.
* Prepare bidder lists, qualify bidders, prepare requests for quotation, and conduct bid evaluations.
* Prepare proposal deliverables such as pricing of subcontracted services, execution approach narratives, and labor hour estimates.
* Recommend source selections, develop negotiation strategies, plan and lead subcontract negotiations, and coordinate final negotiations with the legal department.
* Coordinate clarification meetings with bidders and the project team.
* Prepare commercial bid evaluations.
* Route requisition for award documents to the project team for approvals.
* Draft award subcontract documents and issue to successful bidder.
* Manage change orders.
* Mitigate subcontractor risk and assist with claims or disputes.
Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. No direct reports. Supervises the work of less senior subcontract administrators who assist with the purchasing activities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, supply chain, or operations management, or equivalent project experience.
* 10+ years of experience in capital construction contracting on EPCM projects.
* 5+ years of experience in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing or Data Center Projects is preferred.
* Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong teamwork.
* Ability to work and thrive in a fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environment.

* A drive to solve complex and challenging problems.
* Willingness to indirectly lead and mentor a team of Subcontract Administration professionals.

The base salary range for this position is $92,000.00 to $126,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
