Role and Responsibilities
As a Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer in ADS&T (Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology), you will play a vital role in shaping projects, providing safety case leadership, support and delivery, and collaborating with clients to lead the development and implementation of solutions to solve complex problems. Your responsibilities include:
* Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
* Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety-informed design.
* Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate Right First Time delivery (designers, client, site, regulatory bodies such as DNSR and ONR).
* Undertaking safety assessments and safety analyses (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN).
* Producing safety reports and other technical documents (e.g., PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports).
* Providing support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
* Managing and leading Safety Case activities and teams.
Office base currently includes Bristol, Manchester, Silchester or Glasgow, with flexibility in work location as required by client needs.

* Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum).
* Chartered status or working towards Chartership.
* Technical practitioner experience in Nuclear/Defence domains with good engineering judgement.
Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance; offers of employment depend on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. Vetting is delivered by UKSV and may require residency in the UK for 5 years. Do not include details of any current or previous clearance in your application or CV.
