The job itself
The governors are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic teacher to work at our school with a range of special educational needs. The post will be located at our main site based in the senior department. The post is for two days teaching (PPA will be additional), working as part of a job share with an existing, experienced teacher, who is currently in the classroom three days per week.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive team of both teaching and non-teaching staff. The Senior Leadership team looks forward to welcoming a teacher who has an understanding of the needs of and have experience of working with SEND pupils.
The school is highly committed to supporting our pupils to become independent, positive individuals who will go on to make positive contributions as they progress through life. The governors are keen to appoint someone who has the motivation, skills and qualities to achieve the best outcomes for our young people.
Kings Mill School caters for children and young people with severe or complex learning disabilities, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care plan. Many learners have challenging behaviour, autism, sensory impairment, communication & physical difficulties. A few have degenerative conditions.
Informal visits are encouraged and can be arranged by prior appointment.
