Teaching Assistant
Location: Manchester, M44
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £13.69-£15.87 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella)
Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday (30 minutes dinner)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Reeson Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming primary school in the M44 area of Manchester. This Teaching Assistant role is to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with SEND, supporting both their academic learning and emotional development on a long-term basis.
The successful Teaching Assistant will play a key role in helping the pupil access the curriculum in a way that works for them, breaking learning down into small, manageable steps and ensuring the child feels included, supported, and confident within the classroom environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is patient, nurturing, and experienced in supporting children with additional needs, particularly within KS1.
Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide dedicated 1:1 support as a Teaching Assistant for a KS1 pupil with SEND
2. Support academic progress by breaking learning down into small, achievable steps as a Teaching Assistant
3. Help the pupil remain focused, engaged, and on track with learning as a Teaching Assistant
4. Support emotional regulation, confidence-building, and wellbeing as a Teaching Assistant
5. Work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff as a Teaching Assistant
6. Adapt resources and learning approaches to meet individual needs as a Teaching Assistant
7. Encourage inclusion within the classroom and wider school environment as a Teaching Assistant
8. Maintain a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment as a Teaching Assistant
9. Follow safeguarding procedures and always school policies as a Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
10. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting SEND pupils
11. Experience supporting children with academic and emotional needs
12. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach suited to KS1
13. Ability to build strong, trusting relationships as a Teaching Assistant
14. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
