Trimley St Martin Primary School is seeking a caring, motivated, and committed EYFS Practitioner to support teaching and learning primarily in our reception class. Working under the direction of the class teacher, you will help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.
Your responsibilities:
* support teaching and learning under the direction of the class teacher
* work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce and develop learning
* support children's reading development, including phonics acquisition
* assist in delivering learning through play, including indoor and outdoor activities
* support pupils' personal, social, and emotional development
* promote positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
* assist with classroom organisation and the preparation of learning resources
* contribute to observations, assessment, and record-keeping where appropriate
* support children with additional needs, including SEND and EAL, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
* assist with personal care routines where required, in line with school policies
* build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
* work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to whole-school activities
* promote the safeguarding and welfare of all children at all times.
What you will need:
* Qualifications: A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent)
* Skills and Experience: Experience of supporting teaching and learning in EYFS and/or primary settings, with a good understanding of child development, phonics, and early reading
* Personal Attributes: Strong communication and teamwork skills, a caring and patient approach, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents/carers.
