About the role
North Yorkshire Council is looking for Independent Reviewing Officers with a variety of experience and skills. The role involves ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people across the county.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver all aspects of the Independent Reviewing Officer guidance.
* Chair reviews and oversee the plans for Children in Care.
* Chair Child Protection Conferences.
* Undertake Regulation 44 visits to children’s homes.
* Conduct Annual Reviews for Foster Carers.
* Provide quality assurance and contribute to improving outcomes for children and young people.
* Chair complex meetings across North Yorkshire as required.
* Meet with children and their families in person as part of the service.
Requirements
The successful candidates will work from various locations across North Yorkshire and may work remotely. Candidates must be able to travel to meet service demand and chair meetings remotely or in person as needed. A commitment to flexible working is expected.
