Overview
Integra Education are seeking a dedicated and engaging English and Psychology Tutor to support a Year 11 pupil on a 1:1 basis for approximately 1-6 hours per week; this role will be out in the community and not in school. Hours may increase depending on the pupil's engagement and progress.
The successful candidate will have a strong subject knowledge in both English and Psychology, and ideally experience working with young people who benefit from tailored, individualised support - including those with special educational needs (SEN).
Responsibilities
* Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions in English and Psychology, tailored to the pupil's academic level and learning style
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons that build confidence and support exam preparation
* Track progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure continued improvement
* Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and the wider support team regarding progress and goals
* Support the development of study skills and exam techniques
* Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience tutoring or teaching English and/or Psychology (GCSE level or above)
* Experience supporting SEN pupils is highly advantageous
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to learning needs
* A relevant teaching or tutoring qualification is preferred
