Job Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious pharmacy dispensers to join our busy hospital pharmacy team. Previous hospital experience would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be given.
Applications are welcomed from candidates who do not possess the NVQ Level 2 (relevant units) in Pharmacy Service Skills/Pharmaceutical Sciences. These candidates will be paid at the Band 3 Annexe 21 rate until they have achieved the required qualifications and experience.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a pharmacy support worker to join our friendly pharmacy team at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
Responsibilities include dispensing and supplying medication, receiving, processing, storing and stock‑controlling medicines in the pharmacy department and on wards. Duties also include supporting ward‑based pharmacy teams.
This post is suitable for someone with a hospital pharmacy background or community pharmacy experience wishing to move into the hospital environment. All training will be provided.
Qualifications: Must have successfully achieved the relevant units of pharmacy services skills NVQ level 2 (QCF) or equivalent GPhC accredited training programme.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications – Essential Criteria
* GCSE maths and English language to Grade C or equivalent; NVQ Level 2 (relevant units) in Pharmacy Service Skills/Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
* Skills, knowledge and experience equivalent to level 3 NVQ or to be gained within an agreed timeframe.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills, including calculations, percentages, decimals and fractions.
Desirable Criteria
* ECDL or equivalent.
* Current knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice.
