Your goal will be to ensure that the Sheffield maintenance & support activities, are without interruption, in terms of plant engineering performance and facilities infrastructure.


You are responsible for the management of the sites production equipment (hardware and software).

You are responsible for raising and the delivery of the capital investment plans for the site.

You are responsible for the management and leadership of site services, being the site lead for managing the outsourced hard and soft facilities management contract.

You will be a member of the sites senior leadership team and will lead the Progressive M aintenance (PM) p illar for the sites integrated Lean six sigma programme (IL6S).

How you will contribute :

Own and drive the overall maintenance strategy and structure for our Sheffield Manufacturing site (24x7) according to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability and Engagement goals.

Provide effective leadership within the full maintenance department consisting of CI Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Plant Reliability Engineers, Automation Engineers, Maintenance Planner s .

Drive ‘Plant Reliability’ for the site and engage effectively with the manufacturing operations team in developing and delivering the maintenance strategy and the reliability process (through IL6S PM pillar).

Through the outsourced facilities provider, l ead and be accountable for our Building Maintenance program, facilities maintenance program, driving contract improvements and cost savings where possible.

Provide leadership, strategy and coaching to the engineering team towards implementation of Lean ways of working including delivering zero breakdowns, preventive/predictive maintenance strategies, Progressive Maintenance including Condition Based Monitoring and industry best practice.

Optimise the performance of the operation through the delivery of benefits from productivity improvement and ensure projects are completed in line with change control procedures and engineering and compliance standards.

Manage and forecast the fixed cost budget / spend in the area

Own contractor control within manufacturing u nit .

Partner with internal & external stakeholders and service providers to deliver the agenda.

Lead change programs and manage day to day Industrial relations within the engineering function.

Lead Capex project agenda with strong governance and Plant / business stakeholder management.

What you will bring

Strong operational & manufacturing leadership experience, preferably within the FMCG industry with experience across Lean manufacturing, Health, Safety, GMP standards and industry best practice.

You will be an Engineer with a strong financial & business acumen, project management and problem-solving skills. Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment, Progressive maintenance expertise and Spare parts management.

Experienced in delivering major projects, on time in full.

Experience of transforming a n operational engineering function, developing both the hard and soft skills of your team .

Excellent communication (verbal & written). Demonstrable coaching and leadership skills with a proven track record of leading large teams and a sites industrial relations environment is highly desirable.

Leadership skills, being part of a senior leadership team, shaping the future of the business unit.
