Council Tax Officer Grade 4
Salary: £25,584 up to £28,624 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: 37 hours per week on a permanent contract
About the Role
We are seeking a Council Tax Officer to join our Revenues and Benefits Partnership, a Shared Service comprising the Revenues and Benefits departments from Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, North West Leicestershire District Council, and Harborough District Council. This role offers varied and interesting work, with the potential for flexible working from home, subject to conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* Help the service meet and exceed performance standards while delivering excellent customer service.
* Manage customer interactions regarding the collection of Council Tax and Housing Benefit overpayments.
* Monitor and pursue unpaid debts, engaging with customers, employers, and other agencies to secure payments.
* Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, handling sensitive and challenging situations with a customer-focused approach.
* Utilize IT systems, including the Microsoft Office suite or equivalent.
Additional Information
This position is subject to a basic DBS check.
We operate a hybrid working model, combining office-based, home, and remote work when suitable. The contractual base is office-based with flexibility for remote working within the borough.
