Are you a passionate and dynamic Highways Supervisor looking for your next permanent role? We are currently recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Supervisor to join and lead our Highways team working on the Norfolk Highways project of works. Within this role you will be responsible for the successful delivery and supervision of kerbing, paving, drainage and patching works within the Norwich and Norfolk area by Tarmac and / or our sub-contractors. You will provide guidance on highways management matters to the Tarmac company on whose contract/contracts upon which they are operating, to ensure their objectives and targets are achieved, leading to the successful overall delivery of the project. Main Responsibilities Within the role of Highways Maintenance Supervisor you will ensure there is effective planning, programming and delivery of programme of works, whilst arranging for crews to undertake works orders in a planned fashion and to the highest quality. The day-to-day responsibilities for this role of Highways Maintenance Supervisor will include: Carrying out site inspections and reporting Safety Observations on our Tarmac reporting system Setting and reviewing the gangs targets and minimising costs to maximise profitability and offer any alternative methods of working Achievement of Company and Contractual KPIs and year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPIs H & S Zero accidents and environmental incidents Effectively managing teams, ensuring career progression and competency is achieved Ensuring all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works alongside collaborating, promoting and developing Health, Safety and wellbeing innovations Ensuring training qualifications and competence requirements are in place and monitored for all employees within their team Ensuring all Health & Safety and Toolbox briefings are delivered to teams You must be able to work overtime to cover out of hours emergency call out maintenance duties as directed. A company vehicle is available with this role, therefore you must hold a FULL UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points. The Ideal Candidate It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Highways Maintenance Supervisor will have the following: ESSENTIAL NRSWA Supervisor card Experience in construction and all highways works Experience in Highways Maintenance at a supervisory level A valid UK full manual car driving licence no more than 6 points DESIRABLE Knowledge of Fleet Management LGV/HGV licence The role is based from our Tarmac Norwich site, in Norfolk and is accessible and commutable from such locations as Norwich, Wymondham, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Sheringham, Thetford, Swaffham, Fakenham, Cromer, Kings Lynn, Downham Market, Beccles, Gillingham, The Broads, Aylesham, North Walsham, Dereham and the surrounding areas.
