Project Manager – Data Centres (Utilities / Power Focus)
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + package
Overview
We are working with a leading developer/operator within the data centre sector to appoint a Project Manager with a strong background in utilities, power, or energy infrastructure.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work across both front-end development and project delivery on mission-critical data centre schemes, with a particular focus on utilities infrastructure including power, grid connections, water, and fibre.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Development
* Support site identification, feasibility studies, and due diligence, with a focus on utilities capacity and constraints
* Coordinate with utility providers, DNOs/TSOs, and local authorities
* Develop and manage utilities strategies, including grid connection and infrastructure phasing
* Advise on programme, cost, and risk relating to utilities and energy infrastructure
* Work closely with design teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders during pre-construction
Project Delivery
* Manage the delivery of utilities infrastructure packages across data centre projects
* Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and utility providers to ensure programme and quality targets are achieved
* Monitor progress, budgets, and risks, with a focus on critical power milestones
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, regulatory, and environmental standards
* Act as a key interface between client, consultants, and delivery teams
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within utilities, power, or energy infrastructure
* Strong understanding of grid connections, substations, and HV/LV systems
* Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical projects (data centre experience advantageous)
* Ability to operate across both pre-construction and delivery phases
* Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with utility providers and regulatory bodies
* Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred)
