Harbour is expanding — and we’re looking for an experienced European Sales Director to drive growth across Spain, Italy, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Greece.

Founded in Sydney in 1976, Harbour is a family-owned furniture company with full in-house design, manufacturing, and global distribution. We operate 8 showrooms around the world and manufacture private-label collections for Restoration Hardware, the world’s largest luxury furniture retailer.
We’re seeking a results-driven sales professional with strong relationships in the furniture, hospitality, or design trade sectors. You’ll manage and grow Harbour’s presence in Europe, manage a small growing team of outside sales reps in Europe, work closely with the Managing Director of Europe and APAC, build local partnerships, and represent the brand with excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
* Set and achieve ambitious sales targets and KPIs to drive revenue and market share growth.
* Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging trends in outdoor living and furniture sectors.
* Drive sales through multiple channels including retail, direct-to-consumer (DTC), e-commerce, wholesale, and B2B partnerships.
Team Leadership & Management:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Provide guidance, training, and support to sales team members, ensuring they meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and implement strategies for professional growth and career development.
Client Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including retailers, distributors, commercial accounts, and large-scale buyers.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company’s customer base and revenue streams.
* Oversee the negotiation and closing of high-value sales contracts, ensuring favorable terms and long-term relationships.
Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
* Develop accurate sales forecasts and track performance against goals.
* Provide regular sales performance reports, market insights, and business forecasts to senior leadership.
* Analyze data to identify sales trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Product Knowledge & Market Insights:
* Stay informed on the latest trends in outdoor living and furniture design, materials, and consumer behavior.
* Work closely with the product development team to ensure sales efforts are aligned with new product launches and innovations.
* Communicate customer feedback and market insights to help drive product and service enhancements.
Budget & Expense Management:
* Develop and manage the sales department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources
* and meeting financial objectives.
* Monitor sales-related expenses and optimize the cost-effectiveness of the sales process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional campaigns, product positioning, and brand messaging that resonate with target markets.
* Work closely with the operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with the supply chain and inventory teams to ensure product availability and manage demand fluctuations.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
* 7+ years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the outdoor furniture, home goods, or a related industry.
* Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and building high-performing sales teams.
* Strong knowledge of outdoor furniture products, trends, and customer preferences.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to analyze sales data and translate it into actionable insights and strategies.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire a team.
* Experience in managing multi-channel sales strategies (retail, wholesale, DTC, etc.).
* Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
* Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in international sales or working with global distributors.
* Familiarity with sustainable materials and eco-friendly outdoor furniture trends.
