Salary: £13.75 – £15.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and approachable School Administrative Assistant to work full-time within a welcoming primary school in Wigan. This is a key position at the heart of the school, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and that staff, pupils, parents, and visitors receive excellent support.
Main Duties:
* Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and pupils, offering a warm and professional welcome.
* Managing incoming calls and emails, responding promptly and accurately.
* Carrying out a variety of administrative tasks such as record keeping, data input, and document preparation.
* Maintaining up-to-date pupil and school records, including attendance and admissions.
* Assisting with diary management, meetings, and the organisation of school events.
* Providing effective support to the senior leadership team and wider staff to ensure efficient school operations.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (Or willingness to obtain one).
* Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a school or education setting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confidence using IT systems.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy office.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
