The opportunity Exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the UK Manufacturing Engineering Team on some of the most challenging and cutting-edge EPC projects in the UK. The role As a Senior EC&I Design Engineer, you will be part of an in-house team based in Haydock, contributing to the full project lifecycle—from design through to manufacturing—offering hybrid working for improved flexibility. Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Salary: Ranging at £50,000 – £60,000 per annum Your duties and responsibilities will be Lead the EC&I design of electrical control panels and associated systems. Act as the technical authority for EC&I engineering, supporting project delivery and business goals. Interpret customer requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions. Oversee EC&I engineering and design activities, managing progress, change control, and documentation. Plan and execute tasks to meet time, cost, and quality objectives. Act as the primary client-facing technical lead for EC&I aspects of projects. Review, check, and approve engineering estimates and project costs, ensuring scope and progress are tracked effectively.You will have the following qualifications and experience Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification/experience). Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in EC&I design or technical engineering. Background in regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation. Strong theoretical and hands-on experience with electrical engineering systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and client engagement skills.It's great if you also have the following Low Voltage switchgear design Control and automation system design Motor Control Centre (MCC) design Variable Speed Drive (VSD) systems Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical Familiarity with AMTECH softwareThe setting for the role Construction Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a construction site. These can include, trips and falls, cuts, noise, and scrapes, working from heights, electrical hazardous, moving machinery, toxic exposure, inhalation of chemicals and confined spaces.
