Our client, a leading global retail brokerage, is undergoing a strategic expansion of its institutional business and is seeking to appoint an experienced Credit Risk Manager to support this transition. This is a newly created role, offering a unique opportunity to shape and lead the firm’s institutional credit risk function.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a key role in building and embedding a robust institutional credit risk framework. This individual will bring critical expertise in the analysis and management of credit risk for institutional counterparties, helping to implement best practices and ensure the firm’s continued growth is underpinned by sound risk management principles.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive credit risk framework tailored to institutional counterparties.
* Conduct in-depth counterparty credit analysis, with a focus on complex organisational structures, including family offices, hedge funds, and other entities with offshore or non-standard ownership models.
* Provide risk input on new institutional relationships and contribute to the refinement of onboarding and credit approval processes.
* Lead credit risk discussions related to ISDA and CSA documentation, including collateral and margining terms.
* Collaborate with front office, legal, and compliance teams to ensure effective risk oversight and governance.
* Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for institutional credit risk within the firm.
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a credit analyst or risk manager covering institutional clients — ideally including family offices, funds, and other non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs).
* Strong understanding of ISDA documentation, including CSAs and margining models.
* Familiarity with a range of traded products and their associated risk considerations.
* Background in investment banking, private banking, or a comparable environment is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of a developing risk function.
* A commercial mindset and the ambition to grow with a rapidly expanding global business.
