About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a Battery Test Automation Engineer to support development and verification of high-voltage (HV) traction battery systems. The role involves delivering and maintaining automation tools in advanced testing environments, both in-house and at external test sites.
You will collaborate with engineering teams, test operators, suppliers, and external agencies to ensure smooth operation of battery test systems. Responsibilities include tool development, diagnostics, safety compliance, and future-proofing test capabilities to foster innovation in battery technology.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain battery test automation tools.
* Provide diagnostics and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
* Collaborate with teams to optimize test tools.
* Support engineers and operators with technical guidance.
* Analyze test data, identify faults, and implement improvements.
* Ensure health and safety compliance during tests.
* Plan for future automation needs and system upgrades.
* Proficiency in programming languages: CAPL, Python, C++.
* Knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet protocols and tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, INCA, VehicleSpy.
* Experience with data analysis and visualization platforms like AVL Concerto, Tableau, Minitab.
* Strong understanding of HEV/BEV powertrain systems and high-voltage batteries.
* Experience with test facility operations and control systems.
* Ability to interpret engineering documents and schematics.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards including Risk Assessment, COSHH, SDS.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation.
Qualifications
* Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
* Full UK driving license.
