Quantity Surveyor – Electrical & Instrumentation Projects Location: Teesside Contract Type: Permanent | Competitive Salary Benefits A leading engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial management of large-scale industrial projects across the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full commercial lifecycle of projects — from tendering and cost control through to final account — ensuring that all works are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with contract requirements. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with project managers to prepare and submit accurate monthly progress applications covering labour, materials, plant, and escalation costs Conduct detailed take-offs from construction drawings and maintain rigorous control of variations throughout the project lifecycle Provide ongoing cost forecasting, value tracking, and financial reporting to support project and business objectives Monitor progress on-site, identify potential risks or delays, and produce cause-and-effect analysis to support claims and project recovery Support procurement and subcontractor management processes, including tender evaluation, order placement, and payment certification Ensure all commercial activities comply with company procedures and relevant contract terms (NEC, IChemE, etc.) Key Requirements: Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Electrical & Instrumentation or wider M&E contracting industry Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract and subcontract (particularly NEC) Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence project outcomes Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost management software packages What’s on Offer: Opportunity to work on major industrial projects across Teesside and the wider UK Supportive and collaborative working environment with strong career development prospects Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
