Position: Full-Time Sports Coach

The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and patient Sports Coach to become a vital part of our dedicated team. The right candidate will play an important role in engaging our pupils through sport and physical activity, using creativity and empathy to adapt sessions to meet each child’s needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may have faced challenges in mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver inclusive, engaging sports sessions tailored to the needs of SEMH pupils.
* Use sport to promote emotional regulation, self-esteem, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle choices.
* Build strong, positive relationships with students, helping them feel secure and motivated.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide a consistent and joined-up approach.
* Adapt activities for children with ASD, ADHD, and a wide range of social and emotional needs.
* Monitor individual progress and behaviour, providing constructive feedback to students and the wider team.
* Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment during all physical activities.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in sports coaching, ideally within a school or youth setting.
* A background working with children who have SEMH needs, or SEN such as Autism, ADHD, or behavioural challenges.
* Confidence in managing and engaging children with complex emotional needs.
* A flexible, empathetic approach and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* A genuine passion for helping children grow through sport and movement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
