Consulo are proud recruitment partners with a global engineering manufacturer supplying mechanical and technical solutions into a wide range of industrial markets. The business has a long-standing UK presence, strong internal support, and a reputation for engineering quality, reliability and long-term customer relationships.
They are now looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager / Regional Sales Manager to manage and grow sales across Scotland and Ireland, working with OEMs, end users and distribution partners. This is a field-based external sales role with full ownership of the territory.
The role
*
Managing a defined sales territory covering Scotland & Ireland
*
Developing new business while managing and growing existing accounts
*
Selling mechanical and engineered solutions into industrial customers
*
Working with OEMs, manufacturers, distributors and end users
*
Conducting site visits to assess applications, specifications and operating conditions
*
Preparing and executing a structured Territory Management Plan
*
Working closely with internal sales, applications and technical teams
*
Managing quotations, pipeline and opportunities through a CRM system
*
Providing technical and commercial support to distributors, including joint visits
*
Attending customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events
What they’re looking for
*
Proven experience in external sales, area sales or regional sales
*
Background in industrial sales, engineering sales or technical sales
*
Experience selling into manufacturing, automation, material handling, logistics, food & beverage, packaging, process industry, quarrying, recycling, cement or heavy engineering environments
*
Comfortable selling mechanical components, mechanical systems or engineered solutions
*
A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (HNC, HND, BTEC or equivalent)
*
Technically credible, commercially minded and confident engaging with engineers and decision-makers
*
Able to work autonomously across a large geographic territory
*
Full UK driving licence
