Job description
As a social worker with Suffolk County Council (SCC), you will support children and young people in need, work with families, promote their rights, and empower them to thrive. You will be part of a regulated, highly skilled team and will contribute to a modern, flexible organisation that values professional development and well‑being.
Social Work roles available
* Social Worker: £37,280 – £40,777 per annum, plus £4,000 annual retention payment (pro rata for part‑time)
* Senior Social Worker: £41,502 – £47,054 per annum, plus £3,500 annual retention payment (pro rata for part‑time)
What you need
* Relevant social work qualification and Social Work England registration
* Full and current driving licence and access to personal transport or meeting the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable means
* Professional experience in child protection, family support or related social care settings
Teams and locations
* Social and Senior Social Workers within the Social Care teams working with children subject to s17 and s47 assessment, child in need, and child protection plans.
* Social Worker posts within the Leaving Care (North) team supporting Care Leavers age 16‑25 as they transition into independence.
