Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of respiratory investigations, including:
* Spirometry
* Diffusion studies
* Plethysmography
* Reversibility
* Six minute walks
* Muscle pressure tests (MIPS/MEPS/SNIP)
Other responsibilities include:
* Providing support to the Sleep Service – performing overnight oximetry, multi‑channel respiratory sleep studies, CPAP therapy reviews and set‑ups
* Conducting day‑to‑day sleep and respiratory physiology services – setting up and analysing home sleep studies, initiating and following up CPAP therapy, performing full lung function tests
* Performing, analysing and reporting all routine lung function investigations within the Respiratory Physiology Laboratory to national standard
* Performing, analysing and reporting overnight oximetry and respiratory multichannel sleep studies
* Contributing to the day‑to‑day requirements of the Sleep and CPAP service
* Ensuring calibration and quality control of equipment for all procedures
* Acting as a role model and presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation
* Participating in the education and training of junior staff
* Actively participating in research studies
* Maintaining and developing professional competence and extending knowledge and skills within the scope of the role
Qualifications and Skills
* Easily self‑motivated, well organised, with excellent interpersonal skills
* Flexible attitude and willingness to travel between sites

You will play a key role in the delivery of the Respiratory Physiology Service at Preston CDC, Royal Preston and Chorley District Hospital with support from the Respiratory Physiology team.
