Purpose of the Role To deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Law and Criminology across Level 2–3 programmes, supporting 16–19 learners to achieve their academic and career goals. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Law and Criminology • Teach across topics such as Criminal Law, Civil Law, Crime & Deviance, and the Criminal Justice System • Deliver BTEC / Applied Law / Criminology qualifications • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching resources • Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback • Track learner progress and implement intervention strategies where required • Support learners with academic and pastoral needs • Maintain accurate records using college systems (e.g. registers, progress tracking) • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement • Participate in team meetings, standardisation, and CPD activities Requirements • Degree in Law, Criminology, or related subject • Teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed / AET) or willingness to work towards • Experience teaching in FE or secondary education (preferred) • Strong subject knowledge in Law and/or Criminology • Understanding of safeguarding and working with 16–19 learners • Excellent communication and classroom management skills Desirable • Experience delivering BTEC or Applied L...
