Job Title: Leisure, Sport & Physical Activity Officer
Salary: £38,976-£47,229 pa
Employment type: Permanent, Full time
Location: Hybrid role, work from home and the office (at The Town Hall, Wandsworth, SW18 2PU)
Hours: 36 hours per week (may occasionally involve working unsocial hours; may be out and about within the local community)
Overview
Your role will primarily focus on coordinating and delivering grants and running sports programmes such as the London Youth Games. You’ll work closely with partner providers and agencies to maximise opportunities for participation in physical activity and exercise across the borough. You’ll take the lead in developing, coordinating, and implementing several sports development initiatives and oversee the delivery of the London Youth Games and other programmes within the Sport & Fitness Service. You’ll be part of a small, dedicated sports development team.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and deliver grants and run sports programmes (e.g., the London Youth Games)
* Work with partner providers and agencies to maximise participation in physical activity and exercise
* Lead the development, coordination, and implementation of multiple sports development initiatives
* Oversee the delivery of the London Youth Games and support other programmes within the Sport & Fitness Service
* Collaborate as part of a small, dedicated team and engage with the local community
* Meet deadlines and maintain flexibility in responsibilities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Thorough knowledge of trends in the sports/leisure/health sectors with experience in research and development to support work with the voluntary sector
* Experience of partnership working and delivering impactful projects that meet budgets and political requirements
* Excellent communication and organizational skills with ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
* Understanding of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in employment and service provision
