Overview
Carbon60 are currently looking for a Mechanical Designer to work for a client based in Broughton. This is a contract role running until November 2026. It is a 5 day onsite requirement.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and analyze robotic concept solutions
* Perform complex simulations on loads, stress, fatigue, and manufacturability
* Design mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic 2D and 3D models
* Generate manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and other documentation
* Develop tests, perform failure analysis, and validate product development
* Contribute to the functional analysis and collaborative definition of requirement specifications
* Design systems under safety and quality standards for in-house CE Mark certification
* Validate and ensure the advanced maintenance of deployed systems
* Build a strong technical expertise to steer the development and integration of robotic technologies
Qualifications and Experience
* Masters degree or PhD in Controls, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field
* Hands-on experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Application Engineer, or Robotics Engineer, preferably in industry
* Demonstrated expertise in robotics and actuated systems control
* Solid knowledge of Dynamics and Kinematics
* Successful experience in the integration of industrial robotic solutions used in production
* Proficiency in CAD software, such as CATIA or 3DX
* Familiarity with robot simulation software (e.g., KUKA.Sim, RoboGuide, Visual Components, DELMIA, RoboStudio, Matlab/Simulink, RoboDK)
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
Rates
Hourly rates will differ depending on experience; PAYE and Umbrella rates are available. Up to £35.13 per hour PAYE depending on experience; Up to £47.00 per hour Umbrella depending on experience.
