Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – Deaf CAMHS Cambridge The closing date is 14 June 2026.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in our Deaf CAMHS team based in Cambridge. This part‑time post provides clinical input to children and young people from Cambridge and the East of England, referred to the National Deaf CAMHS Service.
The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary team that includes deaf and hearing staff, as well as sign‑language interpreters skilled in mental health.
Main duties of the job The primary focus is to provide specialist support for deaf children with neurodevelopmental needs, manage ADHD and ASD pathways, and contribute to ADOS assessments.
Provide specialist support for deaf children with neurodevelopmental needs, including ADHD medication monitoring and ASD pathway participation.
Collaborate with case coordinators, local CAMHS, and the multidisciplinary team.
Maintain medical oversight of caseload with collaborative oversight on a case‑by‑case basis.
Experience working with the deaf community desirable; deaf awareness training will be provided.

Qualifications
Primary medical degree.
Full GMC registration.
Included on the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for such inclusion within three months of completing CCT.
Section 12(2) approval of the Mental Health Act.
MRCPsych or equivalent.
CCT in General Adult Psychiatry.
Qualifications in CBT, DBT, or MBT.
Qualifications in change management and service development skills.
Other higher degrees or further training relevant to the post.

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum pro rata.
