We're seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Facilities Engineer to lead the oversight and management of our Stockport based site. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant facilities that support high-performance production environments.
You’ll be responsible for developing a forward-looking facilities strategy, managing capital projects, leading a skilled team, and driving continuous improvement across infrastructure and operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a 3-year rolling facilities plan aligned with business goals
* Lead capital planning, budgeting, and execution of facility upgrades
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance compliance
* Oversee daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing facilities
* Support production teams to minimize downtime
* Ensure compliance with defence industry safety and security standards
* Support training and development of facilities and maintenance staff
* Monitor operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
* Implement preventive maintenance and emergency response plans LIAise with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders
* Conduct inspections and risk assessments to mitigate hazards
* Prepare RFQs, conduct contract reviews, and manage risk
* Manage contractor control processes including RAMS and PTW
* Ensure statutory HSE compliance aligned with ACOPs and best practices
Qualifications & Experience
* HND/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent)
* Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., LOTO, PUWER)
* Occupational Health and Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA)
* Practical experience with CMMS systems and contractor control
* Understanding of safe contractor management practices
