British Transport Police (BTP) is recruiting a Regional Trainer Police Constable to join our Learning and Development Team based at Ashfield House, London. What You’ll Be Doing Prepare and deliver high‑quality training as directed by the Regional Training Delivery Manager Design and deliver training aligned with Area, Regional and Force‑wide learning priorities Conduct delegate assessments in line with course objectives and learning outcomes Evaluate training delivery to support continuous improvement Support wider Learning and Development initiatives and projects Maintain personal operational competence and qualifications Participate in frontline duties when required (Police Officers only) What You’ll Bring Essential Substantive in rank as a Police Constable A recognised training qualification, or willingness to work towards one An up‑to‑date mandatory training record (Police Officers only) Experience in training delivery Strong capability in training needs analysis, design and evaluation Confident facilitation and presentation skills A good understanding of Learning and Development best practice Desirable A1 Assessor qualification (or equivalent) CTLLS or an equivalent nationally recognised teaching qualification Experience in policing‑related operational roles or Learning and Development environments Ready to Apply? Key Dates Expected start date: Summer or Autumn 2026 Are You Eligible? Applicants must: Be a current or former Police Officer from a Home Office police force, Police Scotland or PSNI Be substantive in rank and have completed probation (transferees) Apply within five years of leaving policing and have been substantive in rank (re‑joiners) Have lived in the UK for the past three consecutive years Have no live misconduct warnings or performance issues Not be under investigation by another force Have no active CCJs, unmanaged IVAs or bankruptcy Not have been dismissed from a police force Want to Learn More?
