Job Summary
We are looking for a driven and commercially curious Field Sales Exec to join our Manchester West team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong appetite to develop their own customer relationships, build a pipeline from scratch and take ownership of a defined territory.
You will act as a trusted advisor to local businesses, learning how to assess shipping requirements and recommend the most suitable parcel solutions using Speedy Parcels’ carrier network. Over time, you will take full commercial responsibility for your territory and customer base.
You will receive a two week intensive sales and training induction covering Speedy Parcels services, sales techniques, commercial awareness, cost modelling and CRM systems.
Ongoing support and coaching will be provided by our experienced in house team. There is a strong focus on continual sales learning, development and progression.
Responsibilities
* Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across the Manchester West territory
* Build your own sales pipeline through face to face prospecting, door knocking, meetings and referrals
* Engage with prospective customers to understand their shipping volumes, challenges and growth plans
* Design and present tailored shipping solutions that meet customer needs while remaining commercially viable
* Manage the full sales journey from first conversation through to onboarding and handover to operations
* Develop strong, long term relationships with customers to drive retention, upsell and account growth
* Maintain accurate and up to date records in the CRM system, including activity, opportunities and forecasts
* Manage your own pipeline and provide regular updates to support wider sales planning
* Work closely with operations to ensure solutions sold can be delivered to the expected service levels
* Take accountability for customer satisfaction and ongoing commercial performance
Commercial Focus
* Learn how carrier pricing, surcharges and service options impact cost
* Develop an understanding of the operational cost model behind each solution
* Ensure pricing and service commitments are aligned as your territory grows
* Build strong commercial judgement as experience and autonomy increase

Location and Working Pattern (Field/Hybrid)
This role is based from the Knutsford office, with typically three days per week spent out on territory meeting customers, prospecting and holding face to face meetings. The remaining time is used for follow ups, proposals, CRM updates and collaboration with the wider team.
