Job Responsibilities
* Ensure all maintenance is carried out daily to a high standard.
* Allocate responsibilities to the maintenance team and complete the daily jobs list and preventive maintenance schedules.
* Manage contractors on site, ensuring they follow hotel protocol and provide required paperwork.
* Monitor contractor performance and maintain safety records.
* Maintain the property as a safe environment, including building, gardens, and car parks.
* Carry out planned maintenance according to the H&S set‑up – daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
* Ensure plant rooms and other key areas are kept safe and staff are aware of safety requirements.
* Confirm that all staff have the necessary training and are signed off.
* Keep all H&S records up to date and follow procedures to ensure safe working conditions.
* Prepare and monitor the maintenance budget, influencing profit and loss results.
* Track stock movement, security, and maintain stock levels.
* Assist with monitoring contractor agreements, ensuring quotes, tenders, and accounts stay within agreed costs.
* Complete par stocks of equipment to keep the department running smoothly.
* Report monthly stock valuation to the financial controller.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a maintenance role within the hospitality industry.
* Experience managing a team of maintenance technicians.
* Knowledge of building systems – HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
* Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and scheduling.
* Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Attention to detail in all tasks.
* Ability to work flexible hours and be on call for emergency maintenance.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to ensure a safe working environment for staff.
* Professional attitude when interacting with guests and staff.
