Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire (NG24)
Pay: £103 - £110 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm (term time only)
Start Date: Interviews Asap
Contract: Full-time, long-term to permanent
About the Role
Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist school near Newark. The school supports pupils aged 5-16 with autism and associated special educational needs.
With small class sizes and a strong focus on wellbeing, the school places high importance on consistency, positive relationships and personalised support. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, independence and essential life skills.
Your Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day
Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive routines
Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
Monitor and record progress, behaviour and wellbeing
Communicate effectively with teaching staff and families
Accompany pupils on community activities and off-site learning
About You
Previous Teaching Assistant experience is essential
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
Experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential
Calm, patient and flexible approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
