Job Description:
Purpose of Role:
This role is vital in delivering high-quality engagement with children, supporting their developmental needs while maintaining the highest levels of supervision. You must support and adhere to our Keeping Everyone Safe policies and demonstrate safe working practices.
Support observation and assessment standards in line with regulatory requirements and Bright Beginnings, Bright Horizons curriculum to ensure a child-centred approach. Collaborate with parents to support observation and planning, ensuring it meets all children's needs according to the Quality Assurance Framework. Strive for service excellence for our customers, exemplifying our HEART principles and Bright Promise to provide exceptional care and education.
This role will also work with the room leader and Early Childhood Specialists to foster continuous improvement, embed inspiring early years pedagogy, and achieve better-than-average UK inspection outcomes.
You will promote and articulate the Bright Horizons brand attributes, securing our position as the provider of choice for families, corporate clients, and employees.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Deliver high standards of care and education, understanding policies, child development, EYFS, and Bright Beginning curriculum.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, legislation, and standards, demonstrating high standards of practice.
* Support the delivery of the Bright Beginnings curriculum, ensuring a child-centred approach and meeting the needs of all children per the Quality Assurance Framework.
* Communicate effectively with all nursery stakeholders, including parents, professionals, and colleagues.
* Maintain a high safety culture by adhering to Keeping Everyone Safe policies and demonstrating appropriate behaviors.
* Work collaboratively to complete daily tasks, including hygiene and room preparation.
* Understand referral processes for engaging with professionals supporting child referrals.
* Support charities including the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
* Attend staff meetings and training for ongoing professional development relevant to the Bright Flex Practitioner role.
Responsible for:
* Promoting and following behavior management guidelines, supporting children in managing feelings.
* Ensuring children are supervised, safe, and well, leading by example to foster a safeguarding culture.
* Communicating effectively with team members to meet children's needs.
* Understanding staff deployment and supervision policies to ensure safety and compliance.
* Supporting meal times with high supervision standards.
* Conducting risk assessments to ensure nursery safety and leading by example in safety practices.
* Implementing safeguarding policies and completing child protection training biennially.
* Engaging in professional development to enhance nursery practices and personal growth.
* Delivering high-quality early childhood experiences, including for children with special needs, and supporting emotional wellbeing.
* Supporting record-keeping, assessments, and meeting developmental milestones.
* Collaborating with colleagues and participating in ongoing training.
* Maintaining a sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding.
* Possessing a passion for learning and development, with experience as a key person.
* Holding current 12-hour pediatric First Aid certification.
* Having knowledge of the early years curriculum and regulatory requirements.
* Experience in food preparation and relevant food management training.
* Working within UK regulatory standards, especially within the 0-2 age group if required.
Qualifications:
* Full and relevant Level 2 qualification in childcare (Essential)
* 12-hour pediatric First Aid certification (can be completed during induction)
* Food Hygiene or equivalent training (can be completed during induction)
* Safeguarding/child protection training, with willingness to update regularly (can be completed during induction)
