Role Description: Cosmetic Inspection Technician
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Technician in our Cosmetic Inspection department to join our growing team, playing a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards for intraocular lenses that help restore vision worldwide. This role is ideally suited to individuals who are meticulous, quality-driven, and thrive in environments requiring precision and concentration. You will be working in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment, using microscopes and specialised equipment to inspect delicate Intraocular Lenses.
Whether you already have experience in a laboratory, cleanroom, or inspection-based role, or you are looking to transition into this type of environment, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills. You will be based at our state‑of‑the‑art HQ in Worthing, West Sussex.
* Full‑time, permanent role
* 12‑hour shifts, 7pm – 7am, 4 on / 4 off rotation
* Salary: £31,783 (including £6000 shift allowance)
Key Responsibilities
* Examine intraocular lenses under a microscope, identifying and removing any defective units
* Use tweezers to carefully load the lenses into injectors while working under magnification
* Load injectors into trays, accurately fill with saline, and seal for further processing
* Maintain exceptional attention to detail to ensure only products meeting strict quality standards progress
* Follow SOPs and work within a regulated manufacturing environment
* Accurately complete batch documentation and data entry
* Work within a cleanroom environment, adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols
* Contribute to a culture of quality, precision, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a laboratory, cleanroom, inspection, or quality-focused environment (desirable but not essential)
* Exceptional attention to detail and ability to detect very small defects
* Excellent manual dexterity and steady hand coordination
* Ability to remain focused on repetitive, high‑precision tasks
* Comfortable working with microscopes or willing to be trained
* Ability to follow detailed written instructions and procedures
* Basic computer skills for accurate data entry
Working Environment & PPE Requirements
This role is based in a controlled cleanroom environment. To maintain product quality and safety, you will be required to wear full PPE, including:
* White shoes with over shoes
* Blue cleanroom suit
