Pebble Lodge is a purpose built 10 bed general adolescent unit for young people aged between 13 and 18 years, who are experiencing acute and severe mental health problems. They also provide an education and day programme service for these young people.

As a Mental Health Support Worker you will carry out assigned tasks which have been identified by the trained nursing staff in relation to young people’s needs, assist in organised activities for young and help to create a safe atmosphere and provide emotional support as and when necessary for the young people in the unit and to report any relevant information. Make accurate records of patient observations, including data entry to the RiO patient records computer system.

Other duties appropriate to the role may be requested from time to time by the nurse in charge.

This role requires you to be a driver; the ward has a unit car which is used to transport young people to their homes/placements and to activities or medical appointments. You will be given a driving course on this to ensure you are familiar with the car.

Be aware of and comply with relevant Trust policies and procedures at all times.

For the main duties and responsibilities for this role please read the attached job description and person specification. When completing your application please ensure your supporting statement reflects the criteria set out in these documents by showing how your experience and skills apply to this post.

We understand that using AI can be a useful and supportive tool when completing your application. However, we have also seen an increase in the over‑reliance of AI tools which is negatively impacting applications as they remove candidates’ individuality, and it becomes much harder to get a sense of who you are and your authentic experience. If we suspect you have used AI, it should be used to enhance your application and not to create your supporting statement in its entirety. If we suspect you have used AI to create your supporting statement and this does not match your experience, we may withdraw your application.
