Sales Engineer
A well-established engineering company based near Keele, is seeking a driven and technically minded Internal Sales Engineer to join their friendly and professional sales team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in engineering or technical sales who enjoys working with customers, preparing quotations, and delivering excellent service within a respected UK manufacturer.
The Role
As part of the internal sales team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations, selecting suitable products to meet customer specifications, and maintaining close contact with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Comprehensive in-house product training will be provided, ensuring you gain a strong understanding of the company’s products and applications.
Key Responsibilities of this Sales Engineer role:
Prepare accurate quotations within agreed deadlines
Select products to match customer requirements and specifications
Maintain regular client contact to build strong relationships and customer loyalty
Liaise effectively with customers, area sales managers, and management
Support and maintain profitable sales within company targets
Provide feedback on market trends and opportunities
Utilise CRM, accounting, and sizing software to manage data and workflows efficiently
Ensure all purchases meet relevant compliance and quality requirements
Identify personal training and development needs to enhance skills and career growthSkills Required for this Sales Engineer role:
Engineering qualification – Desirable
Computer literate
Knowledge of pumps, pipework, or related applications – Desirable
Understanding of pressure pipe systems and fittings – Desirable
General understanding of engineering principles
Experience in a similar internal sales or technical role
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple tasks
Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunitiesDetails of this Sales Engineer role:
Based at head office in Woore, Cheshire
Office hours: 08:00 – 18:00 (flexibility to work contracted hours over 4 days, subject to workload and manager discretion)
Own transport is essential due to location
Salary: £27,500 – £30,000 DOE
30 days’ holiday (including statutory), rising to 33 days after 1 year
Annual performance bonus (non-contractual)
Auto-enrolment pension with 5% employee contribution; employer contribution added after 3 years’ service
