Were excited to offer an opportunity to join Capgemini as a Cloud Operations Engineer within our UK Command Centre (UKCC), supporting a valued public sector client. The UKCC provides 24x7 support across a range of services, and this role is dedicated to ensuring the stability and performance of a critical client system.
Client site working: This is a 24x7 shift role which includes day and night shifts based on the client site in Wokingham 5 days per week.
Your role
As a key member of the UKCC team, youll work in a collaborative, inclusive environment where your contributions are valued. Youll be involved in both operational support and project-based activities, with opportunities to grow your skills and career.
Your responsibilities will include:
* System Monitoring: Proactively and reactively monitor IT systems to ensure continuous availability and performance.
* Incident Management: Investigate and resolve issues, apply known fixes, and follow through on tasks with accountability.
* Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to support seamless service delivery.
* Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to team learning through documentation and knowledge transfer.
* Security & Compliance: Follow established protocols to maintain high standards of security and compliance.
* Service Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and support delivery against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Your skills and experience

* Experience or familiarity with triaging support tickets and working with infrastructure environments, with the ability to assess, prioritise, and resolve technical issues effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A methodical, team-oriented approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
* Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
* A commitment to continuous improvement and understanding of the full solution lifecycle.
* Interest in or willingness to learn about DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and container platforms.
* Enthusiasm for learning and professional development.
