We are seeking an experienced SMT/ PCB Assembly Technician for our brilliant client who are within a technical manufacturing industry. The company are based in rural Cambridgeshire and close to Royston and due to the rural nature of the location, candidates must be able to drive to site. Role
Assisting in the manufacture of a wide range of PCB assemblies, this role is essential for ensuring the PCB’s are manufactured to the highest standards and any process defects are identified and reworked in accordance with IPC standards, in a timely manner in order to meet customer specifications.
As part of the team, you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting and reworking SMT and PCB assemblies along with the day to day set up and running of the SMT equipment. Daily maintenance checks will also form part of this role to ensure everything is running smoothly.
Primarily, you will responsible for inspecting finished SMT and PCB’s to identify and carry out accurate repairs. Improving processes in accordance with the relevant company and IPC standards. In addition you will be responsible for SMT and PCB related assembly processes as required within the departments. This could include hand soldering or odd-form components and testing finished PCB’s.

* Previous experience within a similar role within a PCB or technical manufacturing environment is highly desirable
* Experience of carrying out assembly, inspection and rework of high quality SMT and PCB Assemblies to a high standard would be advantageous
* Experience of precision hand soldering of SMT (down to 0201) and odd-form components in accordance with IPC standards (ideally IPC Level 3 or to possess the ability to achieve this standard)
* Possess a high level of manual dexterity and have the physical ability to load and unload PCB
* Some familiarity with electronic components would be helpful
* Outstanding attention to detail

This role is offered on a Full-time, permanent basis. The salary offered is depending on experience and plus benefits.
The successful candidate will be prepared to be flexible with working hours to ensure that the SMT process is aligned to the wider business needs. Therefore, the successful candidate will be prepared to accommodate some degree of flexibility around start & finish hours (i.e. starting earlier or later day shift patterns & potentially twilight shift working). Also, possess the flexibility to work additional overtime hours for short periods as necessary to meet customer demands.
The initial hours during the initial induction and training period will be as follows:
* Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00
* Friday 08:30 – 15:45
