ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support.
You can expect a variety of tasks as a Head of Maintenance. You'll handle responsibilities within the care home building, gardens, and grounds. Tasks may include fixing a leaky tap or planting bulbs. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You'll also liaise with contractors for specialized jobs outside your team's expertise.
ABOUT YOU
The wellbeing of our residents will be your top priority. You'll ensure all maintenance work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands-on property maintenance experience, you'll have at least one trade skill and preferably a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. Reliability and flexibility in working hours are essential. A full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.
