Overview
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner‑led service to customers’ doors. When not on the road, you’ll support the shop with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare the van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
- Complete all vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
- Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road, providing excellent customer service.
- Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Great customer service skills.
- Time‑management skills.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
- Comfortable working independently with self‑motivation and adaptability.
- IT literacy.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a driving role.
- Knowledge of chilled vehicles.
Work Details
Pay: £14.31 per hour.
Night premium: Any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 attracts a premium of £3.75 per hour. This also applies to existing Partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Contract type: Permanent.
Hours of work: Part‑time, up to 12 hours per week. Working Friday 13:30 – 21:30 and every other Saturday 13:30 – 21:30.
Location: Alton (Waitrose & Partners), Station Road, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 2GD.
