Job Description
What your new role will entail:
* Lead the design from data collection, and validation, identifying design gaps, preparing the concept comprehensive plan stage to detailed masterplan in terms of utility corridor space proofing, ROW, and coordination with wet, roads, transportation, landscape and building teams.Develop/review dry utilities master plan reports, derive demand load calculations, and tie-in point requirements.
* Prepare/review the telecommunication infrastructure network design including ducts and utility holes.
* Review the technical deliverables as per local authority and town planning department requirements for each dry services.
* Attend Client design meetings, kick-off meetings, progress meetings, and workshops, prepare presentations and lead dry utility design as the front end when required, conduct internal training, and provide technical support to graduates and engineers.
* Prepare/review clarifications to contractor RFIs, review/approve any key technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities (if required)
* Work towards digitalization skills, innovations, and improvements to manage workload.
* Manage/lead the team of electrical engineers, senior engineers and CAD technicians in the project(s), effective time management, planning, reporting to the line manager in coordination with the project manager and other all relevant disciplines as required.
Qualifications
Here’s what we will need from you:
* Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience in infrastructure projectsThorough experience in grid stations, primary substation requirements, allocating HV corridor up to 400kV level, detailed design of substations, feeder pillars and service turrets, MV up to 33kV and above, LV networks, calculations, excellent report writing skills.
* Strong understating of HV/MV/LV equipment, generators and power backup, traction power for rails including the medium voltage to low voltage distribution
* Able to manage multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams, and manage the projects with low design cost centres of the organisation.
* Ability to manage/lead a design and approval process interfacing with the project team, Clients, and Stakeholders,
* Full understanding of dry utilities and infrastructure projects from concept to IFC stage.
* Able to work on multiple bids and proposals and assist the team lead and disciplines lead in terms of pricing, methodology and options.
* Exceptional knowledge and focus on high-quality design, reviewing and taking ownership of the deliverables produced and ensuring the design safety is followed in all projects including identifying risks, mitigation, and design assumptions registers update.
* Design of electrical systems and dry utilities using Auto CAD Civil3D experience and skills including ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, BIM etc
* Experienced in electrical design software such as ETAP, Amtech, Dialux and other power system studies including Load flow analysis, short circuit studies, harmonic analysis, motor acceleration studies, and transient and steady-state analysis.
* Understanding of 132/220/400 KV overhead and underground lines, relocation, and protection requirements of dry utilities including power, telecom, and lighting.
Minimum Requirements
* Significant experience in Design Only
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering,
* Master’s degree in Energy/Renewable Energy and/ or Electrical and Electronic Engineering is preferred.
* MIET or working towards Chartered Professional (C.Eng.) and holding professional license/certification from internationally recognized bodies.
Previous experience working with any Middle Eastern utility companies will be advantageous, but not essential.
