With a highly experienced team of around 50 people, they operate on a remote-first basis and are scaling at pace. They take a considered approach to hiring, prioritising people who bring something new to the team, not just technical skills.What You'll Be DoingAs a Senior UI Engineer, you will design and build high-quality, performant, and cohesive user interfaces across a range of client projects and internal products. Collaborating closely with back-end engineers, UX designers, and visual designers, your day-to-day will include:Determining the structure, layout, and behaviour of modern web interfacesImplementing responsive, accessible, mobile-first user interfaces using HTML, CSS, SASS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScriptBuilding robust and maintainable React and applications, including SSR and statically-generated pagesDeveloping features that enhance user experience while balancing functional and aesthetic considerationsEnsuring consistent application of brand and design guidelines across digital productsOptimising web pages for speed, scalability, and smooth user interactionsWriting clean, readable, reusable, and testable front-end code, including front-end test suites using tools such as JestDebugging, diagnosing, and resolving functional, visual, and performance issuesWorking closely with UX and product designers to translate design concepts into production-ready UI using Figma or Adobe XDBuilding UI layers on top of REST and GraphQL APIs in close collaboration with back-end teamsCommunicating design and implementation decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersYour ImpactYou will be a key contributor to the quality and consistency of digital experiences delivered to clients across a range of complex, modern projects. Your eye for detail and commitment to accessibility and performance will raise the bar for front-end standards across the team.
