AV Systems Installation Engineer
Location: Near Exeter
The Role
As an AV Systems Production Engineer, you will be a key member of the production team. You'll need excellent hands-on skills, a proactive and self-motivated attitude, and a passion for audio, video, and control systems. An interest in the broader manufacturing process is also important.
Working Hours
* Full-time: 35 hours per week
* Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm (includes a one-hour lunch break)
Main Responsibilities
* Assembly and wiring of AV system hardware
* Terminating specialist connectors using crimp and solder techniques
* Looming and interconnecting hardware components
* Working from technical drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams
* Contributing to the manufacturing and assembly process
* Following in-house process and quality control procedures
* Maintaining clean and efficient workspaces
* Adhering to all relevant health and safety procedures
Essential Qualifications & Skills
* Recognized technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, BTEC National Certificate/Diploma)
* Excellent hands-on skills and attention to detail
* Ability to interpret wiring schematics and technical documentation
* Knowledge of IT networks, firmware, fault finding, and testing
* Experience with digital video and digital/analog audio
* Familiarity with networked control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX)
* Proven soldering and cable preparation skills
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities
* Willingness to grow and develop within the role
