Salary £27,683 - £37,298 per annum, plus 15% market supplement until 31 December 2025

Looking to develop a career in local government and governance? We have an opportunity in a varied and interesting role, to support local democracy, work with and alongside local politicians and senior officers across all departments, as well as to provide advice and information to members of the public.
We are seeking candidates who:
* Are highly motivated team players with excellent administrative skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
* Have strong ICT and English writing skills
* Are highly organized, able to work calmly under pressure, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines
The successful candidate will handle all aspects of the democratic process, including organizing public meetings, coordinating agendas and reports, attending meetings, taking minutes, and supporting Councillors and senior officers.
This is a career graded post with development support. You will gain a solid understanding of the constitutional and legislative framework for local authority decision-making and learn to provide detailed advice to elected members and senior officers.
The role is based in the Council offices in Staines-upon-Thames with flexible working arrangements, including home working, subject to service needs. Attendance at evening meetings on a rota basis is required. The position supports hybrid working in line with council policy. The post holder must attend the office as scheduled and meet service requirements.
Excellent communication skills in spoken English are essential, especially for customer-facing roles. The council complies with the statutory requirements regarding English language proficiency under the Immigration Act 2016. For further inquiries, contact Human Resources.
