Principal Tunnelling Engineer As a Tunnel Engineer, you will contribute to the successful delivery of small- to large-scale turnkey tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects, from pipe jacking installations to complex underground caverns. You will apply both empirical design approaches and advanced numerical modelling techniques-including 3D finite element (FE) analysis for structural and geotechnical applications-to develop robust, technically sound engineering solutions. Your remit will include; * Provide tunnelling leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams. * Perform structural and geotechnical analysis. * Produce detailed design reports, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements. * Provide expert input into temporary and permanent works design. * Expedite schemes from inception to design completion. * Support tendering, feasibility studies, and design reviews. * Ensure the completion of projects and packages of work to agreed budgets and programme. * Mentor colleagues, aiding both personal and career development.
