The Key responsibilities of the Head Chef:
Leading a small kitchen team and managing daily operations
Creating varied, nutritious menus that cater to residents dietary needs
Ensuring all meals are prepared and presented to a high standard
Maintaining kitchen hygiene and equipment
Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and keeping within budget
Supporting training and development of kitchen staff
Managing staff rotas and providing cover for absences
Liaising with colleagues, residents, and suppliers to ensure smooth service
The ideal head chef would have/be:
Experience in a similar role, ideally within a care or healthcare environment
Strong understanding of food hygiene standards and relevant regulations
Confident managing a team and prioritising tasks
Organised, reliable, and passionate about delivering quality food
