Be part of the next chapter of a remarkable country estate.
Set within 34 acres of woodland and landscaped gardens, Cromlix is a Victorian country estate where nature and hospitality are inseparable. Owned by Kim and Andy Murray, Cromlix reopened in 2023 following a major refurbishment, marking the start of an exciting journey as we continue to evolve the estate as a distinctive, world-class destination.
Our gardens play a vital role in how guests experience Cromlix — from peaceful woodland walks to produce grown on site for our kitchens. We are now looking for a Skilled Gardener to join our Garden and Estates team and help shape the future of the landscape.
The role
Working alongside the Head Gardener and wider team, you'll help maintain and develop a diverse range of outdoor spaces including woodland, landscaped gardens, flower beds and productive growing areas.
This is a hands-on role where quality, care and attention to detail matter. You'll be involved in:
Day-to-day garden and grounds maintenance to a high standard
Seasonal planting and development of the estate
Kitchen garden and gourmet garden production, following organic principles that prioritise soil health, natural cycles and low-impact methods
Irrigation, pest management and tree care with long-term stewardship in mind
Safe use and maintenance of equipment
Engaging with guests who take an interest in the gardens and estate
Sustainability at Cromlix
We take a thoughtful, practical approach to sustainability, guided by organic principles and a respect for the land we care for. Our aim is to balance beauty, productivity and responsibility, ensuring the estate continues to thrive for the future.
About you
You'll bring strong horticultural experience, ideally supported by relevant qualifications, such as RHS Level 2 or machinery tickets, along with a genuine pride in your work.
You're likely to thrive if you are:
Passionate about gardening and working outdoors
Knowledgeable, organised and adaptable across the seasons
Comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team
Approachable and happy to share knowledge with colleagues and guests
Why Cromlix?
At Cromlix, we behave with spirit. We value individuality, care deeply about our environment and believe meaningful guest experiences start with authenticity and attention to detail.
This is a rare opportunity to join an estate at an exciting point in its journey — where your work is visible, valued and makes a real difference to the destination we are building.
