The Procurement Manager role encompasses a mix of hands-on tendering (cradle-to-grave) and sourcing activities, with the development and implementation of category management strategies. Working closely with a Senior Category Manager, the Procurement Manager will lead procurement activity in regards to construction and maintenance of capital assets, delivering excellent service to customers and stakeholders.
Specific duties of the Procurement Manager include:
Develop and implement demand and category strategies aligned with value management and procurement policies.
Running cradle-to-grave tender exercises from scoping with stakeholders, RFI, RFQ to award
Collaborate with Senior Category Manager and business leads to deliver sourcing and contracting strategies.
Drive cost reduction through demand aggregation, standardisation, and minimising tail spend.
Lead continuous improvement by applying external best practices and innovation to category strategies
Support full sourcing lifecycle and commercial activities to optimise total cost of ownership.
Procurement Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience in a strategic procurement or category focused role
Knowledge of public sector or utilities procurement processes - advantageous, PCR, UCR, PA23 etc.
Experience in running tenders
Knowledge of; indirect, construction, engineering maintenance, FM spend areas - advantageous
Team player, with a continuous improvement mindset with strong commercial awareness.
