We are seeking an empathetic and driven Rough Sleeper Navigator to join our dynamic team in Southend-on-Sea. You will provide comprehensive support to individuals experiencing rough sleeping, assisting them in accessing essential services, securing housing, and beginning their journey to recovery and independence.
Job Details
* Title: Rough Sleeper Navigator
* Location: Southend-on-Sea (SS1)
* Salary: £14.54 per hour
* Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week
* Shifts: Early (6am-2pm) / Late (4pm-12am), including weekends and bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
* Provide responsive outreach based on Street Link alerts and local intelligence
* Support clients with complex needs including housing, substance misuse, mental and physical health, and offending behaviour
* Offer tailored one-to-one interventions using a trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach
* Act as a single point of contact, advocating with partner services such as health, housing, and welfare
* Help clients develop life skills (e.g., budgeting, hygiene, diet) and support them in maintaining tenancies
* Maintain accurate records and case notes on our database systems
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working with individuals with complex or multiple needs
* Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and services
* Ability to build trust with vulnerable individuals through a person-centred, recovery-focused approach
* Confident in managing conflict and building effective partnerships
* A flexible and proactive team player, willing to work shifts across mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
