Salary and Hours
Competitive salary. Hours: 41 per week.
Responsibilities
* Prepare subcontractor and material enquiries, building relationships, and supporting a smooth procurement process.
* Assist in assembling subcontract orders, ensuring all documents, insurance, and package details are in place for seamless project progression.
* Support management of subcontractor accounts, gaining hands‑on experience with remeasurement, tracking variations, and monitoring provisional sums.
* Record and price project variations, sharpening commercial skills while supporting accurate and reliable final accounts.
* Review subcontractor applications for payment, preparing timely payment notices and strengthening financial control across projects.
* Contribute to valuations, cost analysis and reporting, collaborating closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to develop expertise and progress the career.
Qualifications
* Working towards a Degree in Quantity Surveying or an HNC in construction.
* Knowledge of residential contracting, awareness of property taxation and contractual law.
* Understanding of modern and traditional building methods.
* Technical knowledge of both traditional and modern building methods, keen eye for quality and innovation.
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and clear written communication.
* Strong numeracy and financial management skills, adaptability to construction management IT packages.
