Job Overview:

1. Develop channel sales strategy and ensure effective execution consistent with overall business strategy.
2. Responsible for building and delivering both the budget and Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
3. Leadership and development of Sales Management and the external sales force
4. Representing the business with key external customers in an ambassadorial role

Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Duties:

5. Exceed sales targets in line with profitability expectations
6. Customer acquisition and retention to support channel strategy
7. Deliver New Product Inventory into the channel and maximise available revenue flow
8. Successfully negotiate terms and contracts with key external customers – directly and through team
9. Act as a collaborative and engaged member of the Sales Leadership Team (SLT)
10. Drive a team culture which is open, honest and appropriately challenging
11. Own, support and enable the Talent Management and performance management agendas

Experience / Knowledge:

(Essential)

12. Proven 2nd line leadership experience. Can clearly demonstrate delivery though others
13. Graduate calibre with a proven commitment to professional and leadership development (self and others)
14. Has been accountable for P&L and has successfully delivered against this
15. Experience of working in a highly matrixed environment where a need for collaboration is critical
16. Demonstrable experience of leading high and managing low performers in a robust and ethical way.
17. Can demonstrate how has successfully exploited opportunities and addressed issues through organisational, people and financial management.

(Preferential)

18. Postgraduate qualification in management/business
19. Related or parallel industry experience in a leadership role (i.e. products within a construction market, plumbing and heating or a complex specification and tenders led business model)

Skills:

20. The ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate effective networks at senior levels (both internal and external)
21. Articulate market influence and create effective strategies to act on opportunities and threats
22. The ability to successfully engage with and influence regulatory and industry bodies i.e. HBF, DOH, WRAS and CIPHE
23. Can successfully operate across cultural and geographical boundaries
